What an affiliate relationship is
When a brand runs an affiliate program, they give publishers (like FlintReady) a tracked link. When a reader clicks that link and makes a purchase, the brand pays the publisher a small percentage of the sale as a referral fee. The price you pay stays the same whether you use the tracked link or type the website address by hand.
Affiliate revenue is one of the ways FlintReady stays free to read. The other ways are our own digital products — the Field Manual, Hurricane PDF, Complete Bundle, Premium — and our Etsy shop.

- Alexapure — gravity water filter (Alexapure Pro). Featured on water-track guides and water-storage articles. Partner ID 1070.
Power & Gear
- Grid Doctor 3300 — portable solar generator. Featured on power-outage and off-grid power guides. Sold through My Patriot Supply's affiliate program (partner ID 1070).
Fire & Light
- InstaFire — waterproof fire starter and fuel cubes. Featured on fire-track guides and cold-weather / winter-storm scenarios. Partner ID 1070.
General Preparedness
- Emergency Essentials (beprepared.com) — general-prep retailer. Used as our catch-all partner on the Start Here page, readiness-quiz results, first-aid guides, DIY-gear articles, and mixed-category scenario pages. Partner ID 1070.
We expect to add other partners over time (examples we are evaluating: Mountain House, LifeStraw, Goal Zero, BioLite). When we do, they will appear in the list above and on the page where the link is placed.
Commissions never affect recommendations or price
- Same price for you. Clicking an affiliate link does not change the price. Retailers pay us from their own margin.
- No obligation. You are never required to use our links. If you would rather go straight to Amazon or My Patriot Supply, go straight there.
- We pick by fit, not by payout. A higher commission does not move a product into a guide. We recommend gear because it matches the problem the guide solves.
- No paid placements disguised as content. If a piece is sponsored, it will be labeled sponsored — plainly, at the top.
How we label affiliate links
Every affiliate link on FlintReady carries rel="nofollow sponsored noopener". Every banner sits immediately next to a short disclosure line. Pages that contain affiliate links carry a visible "What You'll Need" notice and a link to this page.
FTC compliance
This disclosure is provided in accordance with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), which require website publishers to disclose any material connection between themselves and a brand or product they recommend — including financial compensation such as affiliate commissions.
