Philippines brownout power calculator.
How much energy do your essentials need? Start with a fan, laptop, phone, and internet equipment. The numbers below are editable examples, not measured Philippine appliance averages.
Build one outage plan.
Enter watts, total hours during this outage, and quantity. If one box combines your router and fiber terminal, use one row so you do not count it twice. For variable loads, use a measured average for the intended activity.
The math, without a product sales pitch.
Outage energy = sum of watts × hours × quantity. Capacity estimate = outage energy ÷ usable share ÷ delivery efficiency. Compare-battery runtime = advertised Wh × usable share × delivery efficiency ÷ simultaneous running watts.
With the starting example, the fan uses 210 Wh, router 72 Wh, fiber terminal 48 Wh, laptop 135 Wh, and phone 20 Wh: 485 Wh total. At 90% usable share and 85% efficiency, the capacity estimate is about 634 Wh. The simultaneous running load is 110 W; a 1,000 Wh battery gives an illustrative 7.0 hours with every selected load running continuously.
Capacity does not establish compatibility.
- Check the exact unit’s continuous output, startup capability, charging input, connectors, and appliance requirements.
- Meralco specifies 230V nominal residential service. Confirm the service and equipment ratings for your location; a plug adapter does not convert voltage.
- A powered router cannot guarantee internet if the provider’s network or local infrastructure is down. Plan a separate communication fallback.
- Refrigerators, air conditioners, medical devices, and whole-home wiring need separate assessment. This calculator does not establish their suitability.
- Use equipment within its manual’s temperature and moisture limits. Follow local building rules and evacuation instructions.
